There’s this concept in performance where there’s a drive to get the focus on you and be popular to the audience. They call this going “over”.
When it comes to Kingdom living, gifts are dispersed not to get yourself over, but to serve others to get Jesus over. The spotlight points to One who spent His time serving others to get the spotlight onto His Father.
It’s easy to seek the spotlight for yourself, but it’s so much healthier to live in the light of Someone greater.
