A friend of the family shared their produce from their field. The variety of the vegetables was impressive. What was even more fascinating was the way they described the way they had to time planting of the seeds to maximise the produce at the right time. They could depend on different vegetables cropping up at different times of the year.
Character development over intentional time seeing the Word of God applied to everyday life eventually brings the capacity to come up with the right responses at just the right time. The patient process of bringing things to fruition has many bumps in that journey but the outcomes that pop up at different times of life make that process more than worthwhile. Time spent delving into the character of God and looking to reflect that in your life is not something that happens overnight. It is however, something that over time leads to remarkable conclusions with regard to how you deal with situations today compared with last year, five years ago and ten years ago. Growth and maturity is not automatic in the human experience. But it becomes natural in the spiritual experience as the value of God’s Word establishes its priority in all things.
The character we need not just to survive, but to thrive in the life that we live is completely dependent on us learning to value God and His Word above all else.
That will help us just in time.
For His Name’s Sake
