About Life With Da Man CD?

Wotsup With Da Man CD is the first weblog of Christopher Dryden (the man ‘CD’ in question).  The blog was birthed out of an interest in a friend’s blog.  On discovering it DMCD researched how a weblog was put together.  With the ease of use seen online (“waddaya mean?  I just type here and press publish here and that’s it? Ace!”) and a passion for words both read and written this provided the spark for a the series of blog entries.

The intention for the blog is to be a centre for the thoughts of DMCD on various issues of life personal and spiritual.  As the blogging continued and he could see the opportunities for it, another blog was launched in a bid to widen interest beyond these to consider some of the interests he held in hobbies and pastimes, to that end Among Friends was launched in October 2006.

Christopher Dryden was born in 1977 in an isolated town (Wellingborough), in an isolated family (Drydens), in an isolated church (Church of God Seventh Day) and so was used to isolation from a very early age.  It was in this isolation that the world of words became attractive to him at an early age.  He loved reading books (thank God for Tintin and Asterix – they have words as well as pictures!) and developed a fascination with the power of the written word.

As he eventually grew to discover that the isolation wasn’t always a good thing (necessarily) and as his journey of faith began in earnest with his upbringing in a Christian home he began to grapple with the issues that life threw him.  Ever a deep thinker as well as reading the thoughts of others he began putting together his own cobbled together thoughts from the various influences and his own heart.  Looking for an outlet for these thoughts this blog has proved to be his trove to deposit whatever thoughts he’s able to type out before it’s washed out of his brain by further thoughts.

Some of the thoughts may be flippant, others maybe complex, some are injected with humour and others are blatant in their despair.  In all his writing there is the seed of a realisation that life is dependent on God as revealed through Jesus Christ.  With this as a basic foundation all of life opens up as a voyage of discovering who God is and then who we are in the light of Him.

The original blog started in December 2005 and was on Blogger for its first four years.  As of January 2010 the blog transferred over to WordPress.
